Spring heralds a culinary explosion of fresh produce, colour and taste for producers and chefs alike, which will once again be celebrated at Sheffield's fifth annual food festival.
This free urban food and drink event sprawls across the heart of the Steel City Centre from Saturday 23rd - Monday 25th of May - the perfect way to spend the bank holiday weekend with friends and family.
2015's festival promises to be tastier than ever with a full artisan food market and tempting street food traders. Budding chefs and novices alike can find inspiration in the festival demo tent, where professional local chefs will demonstrate their skills, followed by chances to taste their creations. And don't miss BBC Radio Sheffield's laugh-a-minute Ready, Steady, Cook! competitions each day, pitting presenters and chefs against each other in fast paced cooking battles.
Head down to the Whirlow Hall Farm pop-up farmyard and lounge amongst the hay bales while the kids listen to BBC Radio Sheffield presenters reading The Little Red Hen.
Children can also participate in mini pizza making and wok cooking demos then jump on a smoothie bike with school food provider Taylor Shaw. An oinking good time can also be had with Ladies in Pigs who will deliver kids' activities and no less than seven different pork recipe tasting sessions each day.
Adults - don't forget you can wash it all down with a trip to the Peace Gardens' mini beer festival, curated by the Sheffield Breweries Cooperative and carry on into the evening with live musical entertainment.
With a further array of events, demos and activities taking place across the whole weekend this is a great family day out not to be missed.
